WISEWOMAN Eligibility
Who is eligible to be in the WISEWOMAN program?

To be eligible for the WISEWOMAN Program, you must be a woman between the ages of 40 and 64. You must also meet certain income guidelines.

Your household income must be below the dollar amount below based on the number of people in your household

    • 1 person household…$30,150

    • 2 person household…$40,600

    • 3 person household…$51,050

    • 4 person household…$61,500

    • 5 person household…$71,950

    • 6 person household…$82,400

    • 7 person household…$92,850

Each additional household member (over 7) add $10,450

You must, also, be part of the Michigan Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCNP). There are several ways you can be part of the program.

    1. If you meet the criteria above, and you do not have insurance, you can be part of the BCCCNP cancer screening program. They will pay for your mammogram and your Pap smear.

    2. Let’s say you have insurance, and the cancer screening your insurance paid for finds something unusual. For example, your mammogram shows a lump, and the doctor wants you to get a diagnostic mammogram. If your insurance plan has a really high deductible that you can’t afford to pay, the BCCCNP will pay for the diagnostic services for you.

    3. If you have Healthy Michigan Plan or some other type of insurance, but you are not able to get your screening services. Maybe you don’t know where to go, or you don’t have a way to get to the doctor’s office. The BCCCNP can help you work through whatever is keeping you from getting your screening services.
